
James R. Davis, O.D. F.A.A.O
After graduating from Indiana University School of
Optometry, Dr. Davis worked at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, as a staff
optometrist for 18 months. During that time he was responsible for examining referred
patients in various disease clinics. After 18 months he was promoted to Director of
Optometry in Glaucoma Service, during which time he was responsible for the entire
service and established the first student-staffed glaucoma clinic at Bascom Palmer.
After 2 years as Director of Glaucoma Services at
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Dr. Davis accepted a
job as Clinic Director at the Idaho Eye Center.
Dr. Davis applied for and was granted Fellowship to the
AAO in 1996, and has enjoyed many speaking engagements, nationally and internationally. He
has published articles in various optometric journals, and has two chapters pending
publication in an upcoming textbook.
Dr. Davis performs
clinical evaluations and treatments at all Idaho Eye
Center clinics. He is versed in Clinical
Refractive Surgery pre and post operative care for Laser
Vision Correction (LASIK) Surgery, Refractive Surgery,
Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastic Surgery, Retinal Surgery,
Corneal Transplants, and Glaucoma Surgery. Dr.
Davis also is experienced to diagnose and treat all
types of Ocular Injuries and Ocular Diseases.
Dr. Davis currently
serves and President of the Idaho Optometric Physicians
